Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, certificates can be supplied upon booking.
Can you play anything on the harp? Can I have a special request?
You can choose your ceremony music and I will always try to learn your special requests if there’s time, although not all music is possible to play on the harp. I play a selection from my wedding music for your drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
Is there background music available in between your sets?
Yes, as I use a microphone and a small, white Bose speaker, I can also play generic background music playlists through the speaker when not playing which is especially useful if playing outside as venues can’t provide it.
How long are you there on the day?
For your ceremony, I will be ready to play 15 – 20mins before your ceremony, to welcome your guests. I can play for your Processional, 2 songs for the signing of the register, then another song for your Recessional, as you leave a happily married couple! For Reception Drinks, I can play up to 2 x 45mins. For the wedding breakfast, I play for 2 x 45mins, fitting in around speeches.
What time will you arrive at the venue?
1-1.5hrs before the booking is due to start. This gives me plenty of time to set up, tune up and change.
Will you need refreshments?
Just a glass of water or a coffee will normally do nicely, but you don’t need to worry about that, I’ll ask the staff when I arrive. If the booking is a long one then a sandwich is really appreciated.
Do you need to take a break?
Yes, during a Reception/Wedding Breakfast, I would play for 45mins, take a break and then play the second 45min set.
Do you play outside?
I’m very happy to play outside as long as the weather is warm, dry and not windy, but it’s always a good idea to arrange this beforehand so that we can look at an appropriate spot where shade is available. The sun can damage my harp and, as I am amplified, the rain isn’t a good idea either! Venues usually have something to offer, e.g. a gazebo
Is the harp loud enough in larger venues?
As I sing for a lot of my repertoire, I always use my voice and harp microphones which helps with larger rooms and bigger crowds.
